Where historic preservation meets purposeful design
For over 50 years, NRF has protected Newport’s unique architectural and cultural heritage. CCS brought that mission to life through experiential, print and digital touchpoints across the visitor journey.

The Newport Restoration Foundation promotes and invests in the architectural heritage of the Newport, RI community, the traditional building trades and Doris Duke’s fine and decorative art collections.
In a long-running creative collaboration with NRF, CCS has designed visitor touchpoints for its two iconic museums: Rough Point and Whitehorne House. We developed a visitor’s guide and map alongside a comprehensive system of wayfinding and interpretive signage. Designed to blend seamlessly with the architecture and landscape of each location, every element remained easy to read and on-brand. Working closely with our fabricator, CCS supervised production and installation to ensure the highest quality results.
To further support NRF’s mission, CCS redesigned and developed their website with a focus on improved user experience, making it easier for visitors to explore and connect with the foundation’s programs, museums and collections.

CCS has also art directed and designed exhibitions at Rough Point since 2017, transforming the galleries to showcase the breadth of Doris Duke’s interests and offer visitors meaningful insight into her life and legacy.
